Web design for tradespeople

A website built around how the work actually arrives. Mobile first, with a tap to call in every header. Plenty of trade businesses need a handful of pages and a number that is easy to ring, and that is a perfectly good answer. If you want more than that, booking or payments or a proper quote form, we build those too and quote them separately. One fixed price and one date in writing, from £470+VAT.

A designer calls you back within 48 hours. Nothing to pay until you have seen it working.

The usual state of things

Where a trade website quietly loses work

None of it is unusual. It is what a site looks like when it was built once, years ago, by somebody who has moved on.

The missed call was the enquiry

The phone goes while you are up a ladder, and there is nothing on the site that catches the job instead.

Every lead is shared three ways

Work comes through Checkatrade, MyBuilder or a Facebook page, so you pay per enquiry and race two other firms to the phone.

Nobody can log in any more

The lad who built it has moved on, so changing a phone number becomes a project. Often the domain sits in his account.

The photographs live on your phone

Finished work is the strongest thing you have to show, and it sits in a camera roll rather than on the page that sells the next job.

One town, not the eight you cover

The site names the town you live in and nothing else, so somebody two villages over rings whoever they did find.

Quoting eats an evening a week

The enquiry never says the size, the access or the age, so every job needs a call or a drive out before you can price it.

What we build

We start from what you actually need

The first call is us asking how work reaches you now, not us reading out a feature list. A lot of trade businesses need a handful of pages, clear photographs and a number that is easy to tap. If that is you, that is the build, and it is a finished website rather than a stripped back one.

Somebody has a problem now. They are in a kitchen holding a phone, and they will ring the first firm that looks like it does this sort of job nearby.

So the number is a tap away in every header of every site we build. Whatever sits beside it, a quote form that asks the property, the access, the age and the rough size, or nothing at all, is your call rather than ours.

Where it depends on the business

Options, not a shopping list

Some trade firms want more than pages and a phone number, so here is the range we can handle. None of it is bundled in and none of it is pushed. Each one is a separate piece of work, scoped and priced on its own on top of the site, so the £470 start price never quietly includes something you did not ask for. Smaller things like a quote form written for your trade, or a gallery grouped by job type rather than dumped in one pile, are part of the page work itself, in when you want them and left out when you do not.

Online booking

Earns its keep when the work runs to fixed slots, servicing, testing, certificate visits. Less use when every job needs pricing before a date exists.

Deposits and card payments

Take a deposit before you order materials, or hold a fitting date with a card rather than chasing it by text the week before.

WhatsApp and live chat

A WhatsApp button suits most trades and is a small job. Live chat only works if somebody is genuinely there, and we will say so if we think it would sit unanswered.

Customer logins

A private area where landlords or letting agents pull their own certificates and reports, instead of ringing you for another copy of an EICR.

Quote calculators

A rough figure from a few answers, a rewire by bedroom count or roofline by the metre, so the enquiry lands warmer and closer to a real job.

An online shop

For firms that supply as well as fit. Parts, spares or materials sold from the site, which is a build in its own right rather than a plugin bolted on.

Links to your other systems

Enquiries fed into the job management or accounting software you already run, or straight to your phone, rather than retyped of an evening.

More pages later

Extra service or area pages once you can see which ones actually bring work in. Priced per page, so the site grows at the pace the business does.

Not sure which of these you need? Tell us what happens now when a job comes in. We will say which would earn their keep, which would just sit there, and if the honest answer is none of them we will say that too.

Pricing

Trade websites from £470+VAT

That is where a small custom built site starts, not what every job costs. Between £470 and £1,000 you are looking at roughly four to eight pages, which covers most sole traders and small firms. If yours needs more, you get the real number at the callback, before anything is committed.

In every build

  • Drawn for your trade, never a template
  • Mobile first, tested on a phone
  • Click to call in every header
  • Roughly four to eight pages, chosen with you
  • Technical SEO, schema and speed in the build
  • An accessible build, tested for contrast and keyboard use
  • Domain in your name, every login handed over

Booking, deposits and payments, live chat, customer logins, quote calculators, ecommerce and links to your other systems are separate work. They are scoped and quoted on their own, so none of them are assumed, and none of them are hiding inside the £470.

FAQs

Fair questions, answered straight

I already pay for Checkatrade and MyBuilder. Why do I need my own site?

Keep them if they work for you, we would not tell you to drop them. The difference is structural. A directory lead is sold to you, usually shared with two or three other firms, and charged per enquiry. A lead from your own site arrives only to you and costs nothing extra.

Nobody can log into my current website and the person who built it has moved on. Can you sort that?

Usually, yes. The first job is working out who actually holds the domain, because on older trade sites it often sits in the builder's account rather than yours. We check, tell you plainly what can be recovered, then either move it into your name or register a fresh one. Every login is handed over at launch.

I just want something simple. Will I get pushed into features I do not need?

No. Plenty of trade businesses need four or five pages, decent photographs of finished work and a number that is easy to tap on a phone. That is a finished website, not a cut down one, and it gets built as carefully as anything else. We will tell you when something extra would earn its keep, and we will say just as plainly when it would sit there doing nothing. The decision stays yours.

I cover eight towns but I only ever come up for the one I live in. Can that be fixed?

That usually happens because one page lists every town at the bottom, which reads as a single blurred page. The fix is a proper page for the areas and services worth being found for, written differently enough to be genuinely separate. At the entry price the site is roughly four to eight pages in total, so we start with the ones carrying the most work and add more later if they earn it. We will not promise you a ranking position, because nobody honestly can.

I am on site all day and cannot answer the phone. What happens to the enquiries I miss?

A tap to call button sits in every header of every site we build, so the easy calls still reach you. After that it depends how you work. Some trades want WhatsApp beside it. Some want a quote form that asks what you would ask on the phone: the property, the access, the age, the rough size. Some want the number and nothing else. We fit it to how you run the job rather than hand you a system to run.

Can you do online booking, deposits or a customer login?

Yes, any of those, plus ecommerce or a link into the software you already use for jobs and invoices. They are separate pieces of work rather than part of the £470 site, so each one is scoped and priced on its own and you decide whether it is worth it. Booking tends to suit firms working to fixed appointment slots, servicing and certificate work for example. Deposits suit jobs where you order materials up front. If neither sounds like you, you do not need either.
